ARTIST & WRITES CONFIRMED FOR BIRMINGHAM COMIC CON
Alan Grant needs no introduction when it comes to comics. The Scottish born writer has penned everything from 2000AD to Batman spanning over four decades and is the co-creator of Anarky and The Ventriloquist among many other characters.

Alan’s work in comics began with DC Thomson as an editor, whilst living in London after a move from Dundee. Furthering his career, he moved to IPC and met John Wagner. Wagner got Alan working on a Tarzan title, whilst he forged the incredibly popular 2000AD - a title Grant would work on for a very long time. Banned in the 80’s, Scream (another IPC title) saw the debut of the renowned Thirteenth Floor, remembered fondly by horror fans, again penned by Alan Grant.

Finally, in the 80’s he started to write Batman (Detective Comics) from issue 583 for DC.

Since the 80’s Alan has worked on dozens of titles for almost every American publisher and with some of the hottest talent the industry has to offer.

In the 2000’s he set up Beserker Comics and with Simon Bisley created the Kingdom of Flies and Church of Hell, published in 2009.

Still working hard Grant continues to bring us some of the best stories written in comics today.
